Used scutil, shasum -a 256, bounded file searches, CLI version checks, mode checks, and provider-auth exit codes with auth output suppressed.

Verification evidence

Undo and recovery

Stop peer writers and inspect current state before any rollback.
Restore only the affected host's exact pre-alignment files from its timestamped backup directories; do not copy a different host's configuration or identity material.
On rdmsm4x, restore individual canonical project files from /Users/richh/dev/fleet/maintenance/backups/codex-agent-alignment-20260822T215500/ if the alignment itself must be reverted.
Re-run the alignment driver in dry-run mode and verify hashes/identity after any selective rollback.
Removing the sixth-host Homebrew casks is destructive to its new tool availability; do that only after an explicit owner decision. Never “undo” by transplanting an older host's auth or private state.
