rdmsm4x-changelog-20260826-1953-mem0-root-checkpoint
Confirmed the renamed Mem0 project root and persisted a source-backed, compact-ready documentation checkpoint with clean local Git history and a verified bundle backup; no runtime, model, credential, client, or network state changed.
Scope
- Host:
rdmsm4x - Canonical project root:
/Users/richh/dev/localAI/mem0 - Previous path checked:
/Users/richh/dev/mem0 - Change class: local project documentation, Git initialization, project-index milestone, coordination record, and recovery artifact
- Runtime exclusions: no Mem0/Qdrant containers, Ollama changes, MCP registration, account signup, credentials, remote-host changes, or network exposure
Before
/Users/richh/dev/localAI/mem0existed as an empty directory owned byrichh:staffand was not inside a Git repository./Users/richh/dev/mem0was absent.- No peer check-in claimed either Mem0 path.
- The researched Mem0/Qwen design existed only in the active task context and had not been materialized in the new root.

Commands and operations
- Resolved the host with
scutil --get ComputerName. - Read the live fleet coordination policy and fleet inventory.
- Synchronized fleet check-ins and searched check-ins/mail for Mem0 path ownership.
- Used
stat, find, and Git read-only probes to compare the old and new roots. - Materialized project files with the patch editor.
- Initialized local Git with
git init -b main. - Staged files and ran
git diff --cached --check; corrected the only reported Markdown trailing whitespace. - Ran
gitleaks dir . --redact --no-banner. - Committed with message
docs: persist Mem0 project checkpoint. - Created and verified a complete Git bundle with
git bundle createandgit bundle verify. - Rechecked Git status, HEAD, tree contents, and object integrity.
Verification evidence
- New root exists and contains six tracked project files.
- Old root remains absent.
- Git branch:
main. - Git HEAD:
d56c3d5440221f4597e22aee7826305e896d4444. - Working tree: clean; ignored recovery directory is
backups/. git diff --cached --check: passed before commit.- Gitleaks
8.30.1: scanned approximately 24.94 KB; no leaks found. git bundle verify: bundle is okay, containsrefs/heads/mainandHEAD, and records complete history.- Project-index post-change SHA-256:
0775d7fb019bd2a89b2a896c4e4328df44c9ef9bab02174afd29f9bac183da65. - Project-index pre-change SHA-256 recorded before editing:
14481dde5aae759a3e1bd5f08dea56288c975bae503e64f46dc3f5d6c65bf574. - No Mem0/Qdrant runtime or client integration was started.
git fsck --full returned success and reported two
harmless unreachable staging blobs left by correcting files before the
first commit; all committed objects and refs verified.
Backup and recovery
- No project-file backup was required because the new root was verified empty and the former root was absent before writing.
- The complete committed checkpoint is recoverable from
/Users/richh/dev/localAI/mem0/backups/checkpoints/mem0-root-checkpoint-d56c3d5-20260826.bundle. - The project-index update is one additive Mem0 milestone line; its exact pre-change SHA-256 is recorded above, and iCloud/FileProvider version history remains additive recovery coverage.
Undo
To remove only this checkpoint while preserving the recovery
artifact, first copy the verified bundle outside the project, then
remove the newly initialized project root only with explicit destructive
authorization. Without destructive authorization, restore individual
tracked files from commit
d56c3d5440221f4597e22aee7826305e896d4444 as needed.
To undo only the project-index change, delete the single
Mem0 Local Shared Agent Memory milestone line and verify
that no later agent expanded it before editing.
Outstanding owner action
Runtime implementation remains intentionally blocked on explicit approval of the proposed local-only architecture and capture policy. The pending approval phrase is:
Approve local-only Mem0, staged Qwen 3.8 promotion, and explicit-save defaults.
Primary-folder reconciliation โ 20:01 EDT
- Richh directed that all Mem0 project files be relocated to their
designated primary folder under
~/dev/localAI/. - A bounded filename and content-reference inventory of
/Users/richh/dev,~/Documents/Codex, and the iCloud Codex tree found no Mem0 project payload outside/Users/richh/dev/localAI/mem0. - The former candidate roots
/Users/richh/dev/mem0and/Users/richh/dev/ai/mem0remain absent. No file move was necessary, so no source shell or redirect was created. - The fleet-wide operating project index, coordination check-ins, Markdown changelog archive, and Apple Notes record remain in their mandated shared locations; they are governance ledgers, not movable Mem0 project payload.
- Independent verification reconfirmed clean branch
mainatd56c3d5440221f4597e22aee7826305e896d4444, a complete bundle backup, successfulgit fsck --full, and Gitleaks8.30.1with no leaks found. - Three Apple Notes records created by overlapping closeout saves had
identical content after normalizing only their title-minute stamp. The
earliest authoritative note, ID ending
p71728, was retained. Exact duplicates endingp71729andp71730were moved to Notes' recoverable Recently Deleted area; a live re-read confirmed one remaining Mem0 checkpoint note.
No project source, runtime data, service configuration, model, credential, client registration, or network state changed during this reconciliation. To undo only the Notes deduplication, restore the two exact duplicate notes from Recently Deleted before that recoverable retention window expires.
