rdmsm4x-changelog-20260915-1527-rtty-builds-510-511-stability
RTTy Builds 510 and 511 fix the overnight crash and the hidden-dashboard CPU burn found on the Build 509 fleet, and remove two visible-dashboard render loops; both builds are on all six hosts.
Session: claude@rdmsm4x, Opus 5, session 90ecf89f · resumed 2026-09-15 13:54:42 EDT · record 15:27 EDT Scope: all six fleet hosts (rdmsm4x, rdmbair15m5, rdmbair13m5, jdmbair13m5, rdmpw3265m, rdmpw3275m); ~/dev/apps/RTTy; ~/dev/lib/ECSProcess.
Found
- rdmbair13m5: RTTy 509 SIGABRT 04:11 EDT (ECSProcess ProcessRunner, availableData after pipe close); not running until relaunched 14:17.
- CPU-minutes over ~17 h on 509: rdmpw3275m 989, jdmbair13m5 654, rdmsm4x 468 — dashboard bodies re-rendering for windows nobody could see.
Changed
- ~/dev/lib/ECSProcess 4fb7b1a (pushed to backup remote): PipeReadGate.
- ~/dev/apps/RTTy: 7a49a05, b2c977a, 38b85d7; releases 8c75d16 (510), 25af25e (511); trust chain re-renders; tags v0.3.835-build510, v0.3.836-build511; main pushed to fleet + backup.
- Fleet: /Applications/RTTy.app replaced twice on every host (510 at 14:32–14:47, 511 at 15:10–15:24).
Verification
- Full native 1050 (8 skipped) / 71 / 285, 0 failures; gates 10/10 for both builds.
- Hidden dashboard on hub: 1.0 % CPU, 0 dashboard body frames in a 10 s sample (509 after 16 h: 149 %).
- Render counts (30 s, visible): PathHistoryView 117 → 77.8/s, DashboardView 3.8 → 2.7/s.
- 15:24:16 EDT: every host runs one /Applications RTTy 511 (e7f28b38…), no report from 510/511.
Build 512 (added 16:03 EDT)
- 823c828 one store commit per probe round; release 57af9ec, tag v0.3.837-build512, pushed.
- Deployed to all six hosts 15:49–16:02 EDT (canary rdmpw3275m); verified 16:02:38, executable 79873073…, rollback 511.
- rdmpw3275m visible dashboard at 6.5 min: 58.6 % (510) → 50.0 % (511) → 36.4 % (512).
Undo
On a host: quit RTTy,
sudo mv /Applications/RTTy.app /Applications/.RTTy.app.rejected-manual,
sudo mv /Applications/.RTTy.app.rollback-build511-57af9ec /Applications/RTTy.app,
open it. Repo: git revert the commits above.
Outstanding
- rdmpw3275m visible dashboard still ~50 % of a core on 511 (Intel, 6K display); next engineering step recorded in SESSION-STATE.
- App Store Connect has Build 509 only; submission steps remain Rich's.
