rdmsm4x changelog 20260925-1346 — codex runner path repair (0.156.1 compat symlink)

A Codex task was blocked because its runner hardcodes the helper path under Caskroom/codex/0.156.1, but Homebrew had already upgraded the cask to 0.157.0. Added one reversible compatibility symlink.

Change

ln -s /opt/homebrew/Caskroom/codex/0.157.0 /opt/homebrew/Caskroom/codex/0.156.1 (guarded: only runs if 0.156.1 is absent and the helper is executable)

Verification

• 0.156.1/bin/codex-code-mode-host → realpath 0.157.0/bin/codex-code-mode-host, identical sha256.
• --help rc=0 (usage printed). --version is not a supported flag (rc=2), which is expected.
• brew list --cask --versions codex still reports only 0.157.0.
• Nothing was copied, reinstalled, restarted, or killed.

Undo

rm /opt/homebrew/Caskroom/codex/0.156.1 removes the link only.

Caveat

The next brew upgrade --cask codex removes 0.157.0 and leaves this link dangling. The durable fix is for the runner to resolve the installed version rather than pin 0.156.1.
